An Easy Chakra Meditation To Induce Change

Why meditate?

We’ve all heard that mediating is important. That it sets the foundation and mood for your day. That it’s a great stress reliever. That it better connects you to your subconscious allowing you to take more control of your life. Sure, these things are all true; however numerous studies also suggest that regular mediation – as little as 10 minutes a day – can provide a myriad of additional mental and physical health benefits as well. It’s been suggested that ailments across the spectrum from anxiety and depression to psoriasis, chronic pain, high blood pressure and immune function can all benefit from meditation

I discovered a simple mediation in Doreen Virtue’s book The Lightworkers Way. It’s a chakra visualization and meditation that is two fold – it calms your mind and energizes your spirit! This meditation is great for beginners as it’s combined with visualization so it’s not 100% about quieting the mind, just focusing it. Through the combination of meditating, visualizing and focused breathing you begin to open and clear your 7 major chakras releasing what is no longer serving you and creating space for what you do want to bring into your life!

Chakra Meditation & Visualization

To begin, visualize your root chakra as a deep red ball at the base of your spine. Notice any dark or cloudy spots on your ball. As you breathe notice a faint white light in the middle of the red ball. This is your Superconcious, Higher Self, the Divine Source, God, whatever you want to call it. See this white light getting brighter each time you breathe out, like you are fanning a fire. Watch the white light clean and polish the red ball, removing clouds and chipping away at any dark areas. Continue breathing into your root chakra until the ball is a radiant, translucent red.

Then move up to your sacral chakra, about 2 inches below your navel, deep in the center of your being. Picture an orange ball and breathe into it the same way.

Follow that with your solar plexus chakra, moving about 2 inches above your navel, also deep within the center of your being and visualize a bright yellow ball, like a shining sun, and breathe into it the same way.

Move up to your heart chakra found in the center of your chest and envision a calming green ball, sometimes sprinkled with pink, like watermelon tourmaline, and breathe into it just like you did the others.

Follow your heart chakra up to your throat chakra, right underneath your Adam’s apple at the base of your throat. Your throat chakra is a clear sky blue, breathe into it, polishing and perfecting its beauty and power.

Your third eye chakra is in between your eyes and up slightly. It is dark blue mixed with purple and white, like the cosmos. Breathe into this one and clear it as well. Eventually you may see this chakra in the shape of an actual eye. Notice if the lid is opened or shut and ask it to open for you.

Your final major chakra is your crown chakra at the top of your head. It is violet or white. Breathe into this chakra as you did the lower 6 to clear and open it to the Divine. Feel the Divine flowing though you as a light pink or white light, flooding your body with warmth and love.

Lastly check in with your whole chakra column. Make sure they are all bright and glistening, open and energetically vibrating. Make sure they are all the same size and if you notice any are larger or smaller just ask them to grow or shrink accordingly so they are energetically equal and balanced.
